SLC Property welcomes Edward Jones as Director of Utilities

National property consultancy, SLC Property, has appointed Edward Jones to the newly created role of Director of Utilities.

Edward Jones brings extensive experience to his new position, having most recently served as Director of Strategic Development at ESP Utilities Group.  He began his career as Land Agent with Cluttons in 2003 where he cut his teeth advising in the utilities sector.  This was followed by a role as Development Surveyor at Savills which led to appointments by national surveying firms specialising within the utilities sector.

Russell Mills, Acquisition and Development Director of SLC Property said: “To date, SLC Property has primarily focused on the transport sector, offering a range of property services to local authorities, landowners and developers, including rail regulation, land assembly, compensation claims and planning.

“However, we are widening the sectors we are working on, with recent commissions in active travel, healthcare and renewables. Edward is joining at a very exciting time for the business.  There is a growing demand for the skills and capabilities of our team and we’re keen to grow this further with Edward’s leadership and expertise.”

Edward, who has also been appointed to the SLC Property board, is a Chartered Member of RICS, a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association, and an RICS assessor.

He added: “I’m very excited to be joining SLC Property at such a key moment.  While it is a relatively young business, it has demonstrated its professionalism and agility in adapting to market needs.  With utility companies under more pressure to upgrade infrastructure, our support for residential and commercial projects is very important. We can help keep costs down and prevent delays, making sure new developments and projects go smoothly.”
